Teg Malla is a serial social entrepreneur, deeply committed to creating positive and sustainable social impact.  With over 30 years of experience establishing and leading social enterprises, she has been recognised as one of the youngest female entrepreneurs in Nepal. Her pioneering efforts were honoured with the Best New Business Award by the King’s Trust, formerly known as the Prince’s Trust in Scotland.  Drawing on her extensive business acumen, creativity, and passion for philanthropy, Malla conceived the idea for these candles. After rigorous research and testing, they were lovingly developed and produced in Belgium.  Malla recently earned a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA), with her dissertation focusing on Women and Philanthropy: Perspectives from Nepal. During her fieldwork, she listened to compelling stories from women in Nepal who struggle to secure funding for initiatives that fall outside the mainstream agenda. Despite facing significant cultural and structural barriers, these women are defying societal norms - breaking stereotypes and demonstrating extraordinary resilience and determination. They are paving the way for future generations of girls to dream bigger and achieve more. Motivated by their courage, Dr. Malla is on a mission: to support women and girls - one candle at a time.
